New York Attorney General Letitia James has reached an agreement with Family Energy, Inc. The Office of the Attorney General of the State of New York (“NYAG”) has determined that certain current and former residential and small commercial Family Energy consumers are eligible to receive payments as compensation for money lost due to this company’s deceptive business practices.  

The Restitution payment is a consequence of enforcement action against Family Energy, Inc. In March 2022, Family Energy, Inc. entered into Assurance of Discontinuance (“Assurance”) with the NYAG and agreed to pay the sum of $2,150,000 to be used by the NYAG for restitution to certain current and former residential and small commercial Family Energy consumers and the administrative costs of said restitution.

If you received a notice in the mail or via email, the New York Attorney General has identified you as eligible to receive compensation under the Family Energy agreement. More information about NYAG investigation can be found in the document section of this website, as well as the NYAG website.

You do not need to do anything to receive payment. However, it is very important that we have your correct address and contact information. If you have a new or different address or contact information, please use the “Update Your Information” form to submit your current information. You can use your unique ID listed at the top of the notice received to log in and securely update your mailing address and provide us with your other contact information.
